Information about Vermont Law School's Cornell Library and the services we offer to our online students

Our Catalog (JULIEN)

screenshot of JULIEN search box JULIEN, the VLS library's online catalog, is located on the library's homepage. Search the catalog for VLS-owned materials that are relevant to your research. We have a huge e-book collection and a great print one that you can access!

We also have a guide to using JULIEN if you'd like more info.

e-Books

We have hundreds of thousands of e-books that you can access from anywhere!

To find and use them:

  1. e-Books automatically show up in default JULIEN search results along with our print titles. If you ONLY want e-books in the results, see our e-book guide to learn how to limit your JULIEN searches to e-books only
  2. You'll need your Vermont Law School login and password to access the majority of our e-books. Others require a Westlaw or Lexis password. You will be prompted for the appropriate login/password when you click on the link to the e-book in JULIEN.
  3. See the e-book guide for questions about different e-book platforms or about downloading e-books.

You do NOT need a "My JULIEN" account to access these resources.

Print Books

See a print title in JULIEN that you are interested in?

  • If you need just a chapter or section from a book in our collection, we will retrieve, scan, and email it to you if it's under 30 pages. Send your request for a scan to infodesk@vermontlaw.edu.
  • If you need a larger number of pages or the whole book, go to a library in your region and request an interlibrary loan for the VLS book (subject to the borrowing/lending policies of that library).
