Each semester, the library places course-related materials from our collection and from faculty members' personal collections on reserve to help students locate them easily and to ensure equal access for high-demand items. The library does not typically have textbooks but we do our best to reserve other materials including nutshells, treatises, and non-casebook required reading.
Locating Course Reserves
Use the library catalog search box above and select the Course Name or Course Instructor option in the drop-down menu. When you click on a course from the results page you will see all materials on reserve for that class, including ebooks and other electronic materials.
Print books are located at the library's information desk. Stop by during our desk hours to request items, which can be borrowed for 2 hours.
Placing Reserves Requests
Before the start of each semester, we compare published reading lists with library collections and place items from the library collection on reserve. Faculty are encouraged to send their book lists to the library 4-6 weeks before the start of each term, as this information is sometimes difficult to find. This allows time for us to process all requests, and to consider purchasing new titles based on demand, if they align with the Collection Development Policy. Please note we do not purchase textbooks or casebooks.
Send your book lists to Melissa Kalinen, Access Services & Interlibrary Loan Specialist.
If you have personal copies of assigned materials we welcome those for course reserve as well. All items will be labeled and returned to you at the end of the semester.
