Committee Prints provide information to committees concerning issues that may become the focus of legislative attention and assist with policy formulation. They generally comprise background working papers and are not always publicly distributed, nor are they always connected to a bill. Procedures for the printing and publication of committee prints differ with each committee, and formats are inconsistent.
The text of selected committee prints can be found back to 1989 on GovInfo.gov, on Lexis from 1994 through 2003, and on HeinOnline back to 1919. Citations/References to committee prints are on ProQuest Congressional back to 1970.
